DANCES WE TEACH

At DANCECAPE Studio, we teach 8 different Latin American & Ballroom dances you'll be able to enjoy at any occasion! As you make progress in each dance, you'll move from our beginner levels through to the advanced levels, all while enjoying the countless benefits derived from dancing! Here are the dances we teach.

The Waltz

 

One of the oldest and most well-known dances of all time. The Waltz is danced at tempos both fast and slow, with gracious up and down gliding across the dance floor, creating a beautiful picture. Danced only to music with a 3/4 beat.

The Tango

 

A sharp and passionate Ballroom dance. The Tango is danced at strict tempo's and are very ridged and dramatic. The Tango gives the opportunity for self expression and impresses on the dance floor.

The Rumba

 

The Rumba is a fun, romantic Latin American dance with slow movements and turns. It is the easiest to learn from the Latin dances and quickly becomes a favorite with many. Usually, when a slow song starts playing, a Rumba can be danced.

The Cha Cha

 

Add a little Latin flair to your dancing with the Cha Cha. It's a fun, cheeky dance with sharp and precise movements and turns. Although it's not the easiest to learn it quickly becomes a favorite with many.

The Foxtrot

 

A smooth and sophisticated Ballroom favorite. The Foxtrot is danced at tempos both fast and slow. Easy to learn and most popular at social events. Danced to most music with a 4/4 beat.

The Swing

 

A fun and relaxing dance with lots of turns and tricks to make anyone smile. The Swing is danced to most music with a 4/4 beat, easy to learn and fun to dance. The Swing can be associated with a slower version of the Jive.

The Samba

 

The Samba is a lively, rhythmical dance which originated in Brazil. It can be danced to music in both 4/4 and 2/4 timing and is great fun to dance. It's easy to learn and serves as a good cardio workout when danced properly. 

The Mambo

 

The Mambo is a fun dance with sharp and precise movements and turns. It's similar to the Salsa making it very popular amongst our students. It has lots of turns and spins and really impresses on the dance floor.
